After posting on our Instagram Story about how over the top I have gone for Zac’s first Christmas, I had so many messages asking what I had bought.
It can be so difficult thinking of presents to buy for your babies first Christmas as they aren’t even one, so there isn’t much they need. I tried to think of a variety of presents, some he could play with straight away and some for when he is a little bit older so he can get some good use from them.
So here is just a little snapshot of some of the presents that I have bought:
It cant just be my child that steals the TV remote at every opportunity. He could have 101 toys on the floor but will still rather play with the a remote or mobile phone. So I thought what better present than his own little toy remote, phone and car keys!
This little set is £11 in Argos, but you it is currently in there 2 for £15 promotion, so a right bargain!
I remember having my own little toy hoover when I was little and I loved it! This one looked so cool and actually hoovers up the three little balls it comes with! I’m hoping it encourages Zac to clean when he is older (wishful thinking). It’s also currently in the sale in Argos, it was £34 but is now £17,99 !
I love wooden toys and so wanted to get Zac a wooden activity cube. This one is quite big and such good quality compared to others I have seen. I love that there are so many different things for Zac to play with.
Zac is getting to the age now where he loves playing in the bath, so over the past few months I have been picking up bath toys in the Aldi Baby Events. They currently have some really good ones in which make bubbles and squirt water (I’m trying to convince Ricky to let me buy more!)
What little boy doesn’t love cars? I love these wooden vehicles from Aldi, I can just imagine Zac pushing them around and making all the siren noises. They are such good quality as well. I think they were £5 in one of the Aldi baby events!
Whenever the bubble machine comes out at Baby Sensory Zac gets so excited, he looks so mesmerised by the bubbles. So I knew I had to get him one of his own!
This Sensory activity car was such a bargain! It was £50 in most retailers but I managed to get it for only £30 on Vertbaudet. If you haven’t heard of Vertbaudet then you need to check it out, they do everything from toys and nursery accessories to clothes and bedding. They always have such good deals on!
So this little wooden activity table is similar to the cube but I just couldn’t resist. Its so cute and I think it may help Zac as he is currently trying to pull himself up to stand on everything! They do sell this in Tesco but I can’t find it online!
If you know me you know I’m obsessed with buying Zac books, I really hope he grows up to love reading. We read him bedtime stories every night. The “That’s not mine” collection is perfect for babies and toddlers. They are board books so they can sit and play with them independently, and they have sensory feely bits inside! (They currently have these in Aldi for £2.99 each … can you tell I shop in Aldi lol)
I was recommended to buy this by a friend as her little boy loved it. Its a sit to stand music centre so perfect for Zac’s age (9 months at Christmas) as he can sit and play with it but also use it to pull himself up and stand and play as he gets stronger on his legs.
This is Zac’s present from Santa! He loves everything sensory and has always been obsessed by lights. We have been to the aquarium a few times and he really enjoyed it so I thought this would be perfect. You just fill with water and it lights up different colours, blows bubbles and the little toy fish move up and down (I wonder how long we can convince him they are real fish!). I bought this in B&M a couple of months ago for £30, but it is now £50 in there so I would recommend looking online on eBay as they are much cheaper on there!
We were lucky enough to win one of these ball pits in a giveaway from Tilly & Reuben so isn’t actually one of Zac’s Christmas presents, but I had to include it as I think it’s fab. Zac has already got so much use out of it and I can see him playing with this for at least another few years! The foam sides are so much studier than the cheaper pop up ball pits so he was able to use it before he could confidently sit up.
So that is most of Zac’s Christmas presents … still not all of them, but most! He also has some small presents like a pop up tunnel, musical instruments and puzzles. I am also going to make him some sensory pat mats as he loves them! They are so cheap and easy to make. I will try and get a blog up before Christmas showing how to make them!
