Our Family of Three

Our Family of Three

Hi everyone and welcome to our little corner of the internet! I thought i’d start by introducing our little family, as that’s what we are now that we have Zac, a family.

I am 25 year old first time mummy, Chantelle. I guess that also makes me a young mum – maybe? To be honest i’m not really sure what the cut off is for being a ‘young mum’. At what age do you stop being a ‘young’ mum and become an ‘old’ mum? In my opinion age is irrelevant as there is definitely no perfect time or age to have a baby! Old or young we are all just winging it and trying to make it to the end of the day without knocking our babies head on a door (Oh the mum guilt).

Before becoming a mum I worked in marketing, designing and editing websites and writing blogs (don’t judge me on that though as blogging about air conditioning is completely different to babies!)

Things I love

So lets start at the beginning of our family story. Me and Ricky (Zac’s daddy) met at secondary school, he was actually my first crush. We started ‘going out’ (I hate that phrase but I refuse to say ‘courting’) when we were 15. Yep that’s right we have been together since we were only 15, young love aye. I’ll answer a few of the questions that I know some of you are already thinking. Yes he was my ‘first’. No I don’t feel like I missed out (On what, sleeping around? no thanks). And no we aren’t bored of each other. Does that cover it?

In December 2013 we went to Mexico for our 21st birthdays (as they are pretty close) and whilst there Ricky popped the question – and I of course said yes! Fun fact: He wrapped the ring up as a “birthday present” and made me carry the ring the whole way through the airport and on the plane without me knowing.Good job I didn’t lose it.

Our Wedding Day

We then moved into our first home together, in Benfleet Essex, shortly after. We eventually tied the knot on Saturday 17th December 2016 in a beautiful country manor house. Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year, I love everything about it. The decorations, the films, the food and family time. So getting married at Christmas time was a dream come true. We then honeymooned over new years in Jamaica which was incredible!

6 months later we were over the moon to find out that we were expecting! After 9 very quick months (honestly it went so fast!) on Wednesday 14th March 2018 (his due date!) our perfect baby boy Zachary James English swam into the world weighing a whopping 8lb 11oz.

So that pretty much brings us to now! Ricky goes to work to pay the mortgage and I spend the day looking after Zac and thinking of ways to make money which doesn’t involve ever leaving him! Who knows maybe i’ll win the lottery.

If you have made it this far, then thank you so much for reading my ramblings a.k.a mummy blog. And if you did enjoy it then please show some love, give us a follow and subscribe to read next weeks!

Bye for now,

Mama & Zac
