We were kindly gifted tickets to attend Paulton’s Park (The home of Peppa Pig World!), so that we could write a review on the park and share our experience of visiting with a toddler.
Zac is currently 14 months old and has recently started taking an interest in television and seems to love Peppa Pig, so we thought this would be the perfect time to take him.
We went with Zac’s best friend Jenson, so there was 4 adults and 2 children (Both 14 months old and around 750mm).
We arrived at the park at about 11am (1 hour after the park opened). Upon arriving we were directed to a parking space, there was plenty of spaces and parking was really easy.
Getting our tickets was really quick – there was hardly any queue. We were given our map and then we headed straight into the park. I didn’t realise how big the park is! There is something for everyone of all ages.
There are 4 areas to the park:
- Peppa Pig World
- The Lost Kingdom
- Critter Creek
- Little Africa
As you walk in there is lots of lovely green areas for children to run around – Zac was having so much fun before we even got to the rides.
Critter Creek
Once inside the park we made our way towards Peppa Pig World. On our way there we had a stroll through Critter Creek! Inside Critter Creek there are a few rides as well as a mini aquarium where you can see fish and lots of critters! Most of the viewing areas were quite low down which was perfect for Zac! While we were in Critter Creek we also took a ride on the Expedition Express train and the teacups which Zac loved!
Peppa Pig World
We then made our way to Peppa Pig World. As soon as you walked in you could hear the familiar sound of the Peppa Pig theme tune and there was lots of statues around! Zac was mesmerised from the moment we walked in.
Miss Rabbits Helicopter Flight
The first ride that we went on was Miss Rabbits Helicopter flight which is like a Ferris Wheel type ride. It looked like a lovely ride where the boys could look out over the park. However despite it being quite a slow ride – Zac was petrified! I’m not sure if it was the height or the feeling of going up but he didn’t like it! However his friend Jenson loved it! Isn’t it funny how different children can be!
Windy Castle Ride
After this ride Ricky took Zac on the Windy Castle Ride. We thought he may be better on this one as he didn’t need to be strapped in – but nope he was scared of this one too! After this ride we decided to head for some lunch as I think part of the reason Zac was being a bit miserable was because he was hungry.
Lunch
At the entrance of Peppa Pig World there was a café with an outdoor eating area. We each got a meal deal. Ricky had burger, chips and a drink. I had fish, chips and a drink. Zac had sausage, chips and fruit shoot. All together it came to around £20. If you didn’t want to pay for food there was lots of places around you could sit and have a picnic!
Meeting Peppa Pig
After lunch it was time to go meet Peppa herself! The meet and greet is held over by the playground. The queue wasn’t very long (considering we went at the weekend), we waited about 10-15 mins. In true Zac style he was petrified of Peppa and George! Strange as he was fine with the statues just 2 mins before! Peppa and George were lovely, they interacted with the children and even done a little dance. Zac’s friend Jenson loved hi-fiving them!
The Playground
After meeting Peppa Pig we let the boys run off some steam in the play area. This was such a lovely little area with lots of different climbing frames and slides of varying heights. These miniature ones were perfect for toddlers to explore.
The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride
Once the boys had burned off some energy we went to try out the rest of the rides! Next on the list was the Queen’s Flying Coach Ride. We wasn’t sure how Zac was going to be on this – it was high up (which he apparently hates) but it was a train (which he loves).
He looked a little nervous to begin with but once we got going he loved it! He loved being able to look and see all the trees. I think he felt much safer being able to sit on our laps on this one.
Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club
This was probably one of my favourite rides – and Zac’s. It was a lovely calm little water ride. Zac loved looking out over the edge at the water and all the statues and displays that we sailed past. It was great that we could all fit on as a group too so the boys could sit together.
Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip
This was another little water ride which Zac loved. You could only fit two people per boat but we were able to put Zac on our lap so all three of us could get on!
Grandpa Pig’s Little Train
The train ride seats four people but is quite tight so is best to have little ones seated on their own rather than on your lap. The dad’s went on this one with them. The boys loved it, looking and waving at us from the train.
Daddy Pig’s Car Ride
This was our final ride of the day. Zac is obsessed with car’s and absolutely loved this ride! He sat there holding the steering wheel making a little Brrrr noise as we went around the track!
When we got off the car ride it started to rain so we ran to the soft play for shelter!
Soft Play
It is great that there is an indoor soft play for when the inevitable happens and it rains! It does get quite busy though so we just stayed to the smaller soft play area for younger children. Zac loved climbing on all the shapes.
By this point it was heavily raining so we put on our rain macs and headed for the car. We couldn’t leave without stopping by the gift shop! I was pleasantly surprised by the prices in the gift shop – not too different to what you would see in shops elsewhere. We chose a little George Pig TY teddy (which Zac sleeps with every night now)
We had the best day at Peppa Pig World, thank you so much Paulton’s Park for inviting us!
It was the perfect day out for a family with a toddler! Like I mentioned before Zac is just over 750mm and there was only one ride that he couldn’t go on which had a height restriction. All of the other rides are suitable for children of all ages!
There was so much to do that we didn’t even have time to see everything! We will definitely be visiting again, exploring Little Africa is definitely on our list for next time!
Hope you have enjoyed our review!
