We were very kindly sent the 3-in-1 support seat from Summer Infant to try out and review. I was sceptical as we already had a Bumbo seat which we really were not keen on! If you have a Bumbo seat for your little one you know how ridiculously impossible it is to get the tray on and off without either chopping your fingers off or dropping your child backwards. I mean who even came up with that design!
The Summer Infant support seat is so much more versatile than the Bumbo, it grows with your baby. Stage one acts as a seat positioner with a soft foam insert to help infants learning to sit; stage two transitions to a booster seat with tray and toddler support; while stage three acts as a booster seat without the tray for older toddlers. We are currently using it at Stage 2 as a booster seat for Zac.
When the seat arrived I was really pleased to see that the tray did not need to attach underneath the seat (The main design floor with Bumbo). I was able to quickly and easily pop Zac in and attach the tray (I even managed to do this one handed whilst videoing this on our Instagram stories!). Zac seemed to love the seat straight away, he was smiling and laughing … must be comfy!
We have found that the seat is so handy to take out with you. We usually take it to our in-laws whenever we visit. They don’t have a highchair so this is perfect to chuck in the car to take for Zac to eat his dinner in.
I also use this at home when Zac is having a quick lunch or snack rather than putting him in his highchair, or if I am washing all the fabric on his highchair. Its so easy to clean as there is no fabric so it literally wipes clean! If you haven’t got room for a highchair then I think this is a great alternative.
Another great feature of this seat is that it can actually be strapped onto a normal chair and used as a booster seat. We have tried this a few times recently and Zac seems to love sitting up the table with us like a big boy! I also think it encourages to eat more as he can see us sitting nicely and eating. It’s really easy to attach, it just has two sets of straps which clip together underneath the chair.
Overall I think it is a great support and booster seat for little ones and will continue to use this both at home and eating out!
Don’t forget to go check out our Instagram to follow Zac’s journey and see what other products we are loving!
This sounds fab! I love the fact that it’s compact enough to take with you when you go out too! I reckon these are definitely an essential product to have, especially if you eat out a lot too x x
