What is Blog DA?

DA stands for Domain Authority. Domain Authority is a search engine ranking score that gives an indication of how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (e.g. Google). A Domain Authority score ranges from 1 to 100.

Many brands will use sites such as MOZ to check your DA. Your score will often determine whether or not they wish to collaborate with you.

What is a ‘Good’ DA?

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to this. The higher your DA the better. Each brand will have their own criteria and threshold – this is usually determined by the average DA of your blog niche (e.g. other mum blogs).

How to Improve Blog DA

Google uses lots of factors to decide how highly your pages rank – therefore DA also uses a number of factors to work out a score. The following factors will affect your DA score:

• Website age
• SEO (search engine optimisation)
• Link profile

The best way to help improve your DA is ensure good overall SEO and have a variety of backlinks from high-authority sites.

What is The Big Mummy Blog Share?

The Big Mummy Blog Share is a monthly mum blog feature.

Each month you will be sent a brief detailing what this months feature involves.
It could be a Q&A on birth stories, weaning, mental health etc. or a “top 5 mum bloggers” type feature.
Some months you will be sent a series of questions to answer, or sometimes you may be asked to provide interview style questions for another mum!

You will have 3 weeks to submit your answers/blog piece. I will then distribute the blog features among the participants and you will post someone else’s feature on your blog (like a guest blog post). This way each person will receive a link back to their blog (therefore improving your DA!)
